Murrindindi Shire Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Coordinator Healthy Communities to lead the delivery of community health and wellbeing initiatives that improve population health outcomes across the municipality.

Reporting to the Manager Community Wellbeing, this role provides day-to-day leadership to a multidisciplinary team and plays a key role in delivering integrated, evidence-informed programs that strengthen community wellbeing, inclusion and resilience.

About this opportunity

  • Lead the planning and coordination of health and wellbeing programs aligned to the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) and Council priorities.
  • Drive integrated, evidence-informed approaches that respond to community needs and improve outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships with community, health services, and government stakeholders.
  • Lead community engagement and co-design to inform service planning and delivery.
  • Provide leadership, support and development to staff, fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
  • Oversee program monitoring, evaluation and reporting to demonstrate impact.
  • Contribute to policy development, planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support emergency management responsibilities including response, relief and recovery.

What you will bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in public health, community development or a related field.
  • Experience leading or coordinating community health or wellbeing programs.
  • Strong ability to build partnerships and engage stakeholders.
  • Experience leading staff and supporting performance development.
  • Strong analytical skills to inform planning and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of public health, social determinants and local government context.
