Waverley Council is seeking a People & Culture Officer to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality HR services across the organisation.

The Role

As the People & Culture Officer, you will be backbone of our People & Culture team, providing proactive administrative support to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of HR Services. Your strong attention to detail, customer service focus, and ability to manage competing priorities will be the key to your success in this role.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring the P & C inbox and coordinating timely responses
  • Assisting with compliance checks (medicals, VEVO, police checks, vaccinations)
  • Managing new hire onboarding, induction processes, including paperwork and payroll system set up in Chris21.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with data storage protocols
  • Supporting learning and development administration in collaboration with the Learning Business Partner
  • Assisting with procurement procedures, purchase orders, and monthly HR reporting
  • Providing logistical support for meetings, training sessions, and internal events.
  • Creating and updating, HR documents, technical manuals, and training materials

 What you’ll bring

  • Experience in the provision of administration support
  • Appetite to gain exposure to P&C Advisory support
  • A quick learner able to interpret and apply the EA, policies and procedures
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience and a demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service to diverse stakeholders and internal customers
  • Strong ability to maintain discretion and confidence and deal with highly sensitive information
