About the Role

A rare opportunity is available for a Principal Building Surveyor with experience in fire safety to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination, implementation and maintenance of the essential Fire Safety services program for commercial and industrial premises across the Shire. In addition, you will mentor a small team of experienced Building Surveyors to assess applications and certificates in accordance with relevant legislation. 

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health and Building, Building Surveying or related field.
  • Accreditation with NSW Fair Trading at a registration level of Building Surveyor – restricted (all classes of buildings) and/or Fire Safety Engineer under the Building & Development Certifiers Act 2018.
  • A minimum four (5) years’ relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementation of a fire safety program, including assessment of certificates, statements, schedules and enforcement functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessment of fire safety compliance for both proposed and existing buildings, in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
