JOB DESCRIPTION 
We're looking for an experienced professional to lead the knowledge capture workstream of our Development Assessment Improvement Program (DAIP) and play a key role in transforming the way development assessment services are delivered.

In this influential role, you'll work across the organisation to capture critical operational knowledge, design and implement best-practice assessment processes, and embed consistent ways of working that improve quality, efficiency and customer outcomes.

Working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders, you'll lead the development of standardised procedures, governance frameworks, performance controls and continuous improvement practices that support sustainable service delivery and lasting organisational reform.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the organisation's most significant improvement initiatives. You'll help implement the recommendations and corrective actions arising from the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Expert Planner Final Report (2026), ensuring our development assessment practices align with legislative requirements, organisational objectives and contemporary best practice.

The successful applicant will have: 

  • Experienced business improvement, knowledge management or organisational change.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and coordinate across multiple teams and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex operational practices into practical, sustainable business solutions.
  • Experience in development assessment, planning or local government will be highly regarded.
  • Lean Six Sigma/ Six Sigma Black Belt certification (not essential but desirable).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive evidence‑based improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing improvement projects or transformation initiatives, including planning, implementation, and benefits realisation.
