JOB DETAILS
Permanent, Full-Time 35 hours, 5 days/week           $125,435 to $137,445 + Super + Car                             Cowpasture Depot

JOB DESCRIPTION
Lead and grow Council’s commercial operations while managing and optimising plant, fleet and mechanical services across their full asset lifecycle. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility and safety requirements, while developing and overseeing business, financial and safety plans. The position drives operational efficiency, asset performance and revenue-generating opportunities, delivering value to both internal and external stakeholders.

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Trades, Business Management, Leadership, WHS, HVNL/Chain of Responsibility, Project Management or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Current Class C Driver License and relevant plant and equipment operating accreditations.
  • Extensive experience delivering commercial, operational efficiency and plant & fleet management programs.
  • Proven leadership experience coaching, mentoring and managing mechanical trades, frontline and office teams and contractors.
  • Demonstrated extensive capability in project management, procurement, tendering, contract management, budgeting and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of WHS, HVNL compliance, plant and fleet operations, workforce planning and asset management.
  • Experience developing business and financial plans, managing service performance and delivering cost-effective vehicle and plant maintenance outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with advanced computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimise performance, manage KPIs and SLAs, and identify opportunities to reduce operating costs and improve service delivery.

The salary (within the above-mentioned range) will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant.
