Lead a team that maintains the parks, gardens, reserves and open spaces people use every day across Blacktown City. You coordinate daily work programs, supervise staff, allocate resources and keep maintenance activities on schedule. Across sports fields, gardens and community open spaces, you help ensure public areas are clean, safe and well presented for residents and visitors.

Working both in the field and on day-to-day operations, you oversee weed control programs, garden and turf maintenance, mulching, watering, landscape maintenance and renovation works. You monitor the safe use of plant, equipment and chemicals, manage hazard reporting, complete operational records and support your team through training, toolbox talks and ongoing coaching. You also work closely with staff and the public to provide information and resolve issues as they arise.

The work has a direct impact on how people experience Blacktown City. Well-maintained parks, gardens and recreational spaces support community life, local sport and outdoor recreation. Your leadership helps ensure these spaces remain welcoming, accessible and maintained to a high standard.

This role suits someone with strong parks and gardens experience who enjoys leading people and organising practical work. In return, you gain secure employment, ongoing training, opportunities to strengthen your leadership skills and the satisfaction of seeing the results of your work across the community every day.

At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:

  • a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
  • an entry level salary commencing at $1,468.72 per week
  • a 38-hour working week
  • a Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
  • ongoing training and development support
  • access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
