About the position:

The Final Trim Grader Operator undertakes operational activities associated with the provision of road construction and maintenance services to the City of Greater Geraldton, working under direction to ensure all work is carried out within agreed programs and budget constraints and in compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, City policies, procedures and relevant Australian standards.

This position provides daily guidance to other members of the Rural Roads team onsite as required by the Line Manager.

This position works a 9-day fortnight with every second Friday as a non-working day.

Key accountabilities:

• Operate grader at a high level of tolerance including grading (final trim) to survey design levels and tolerances as required.
• Lead the City’s rural road maintenance teams to ensure that works are completed to the required standard in a timely manner.
• Setout renewal works to City standards or plans as required.
• Provide assistance to Line Supervisor to ensure works are conducted to industry and City standards.
• Provide initiative and guidance to Rural Roads team as required in daily activities, including coordinating all materials and equipment for use by the team.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will hold an HC licence and have significant experience as a final trim grader operator or hold a formally recognised industry qualification.

Furthermore, have sound experience in road construction and maintenance techniques, including gravel road maintenance and re-sheeting.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary ranging from $84,883 per annum to $95,424 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
