The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Statutory Planner (Band 7) to fill critical support roles in the Statutory Planning unit. You will have a strong customer focus, provide accurate and consistent advice and support to residents, developers and consultants and manage a caseload of planning applications, including major developments and complex planning issues.
Supporting the Coordinator Planning, the role will additionally provide accurate advice and guidance to planners and be responsible for review and decision-making for planning proposals where delegated.
You will oversee the passage of more complex planning applications through the legislated planning process from lodgment to decision, making recommendations in accordance with the Greater Bendigo Planning Scheme. You will engage with stakeholders in the planning process, including applicants, other agencies, internal subject matter experts, and other affected parties.
About You
As part of a multi-disciplinary Directorate, you will additionally contribute knowledge to strategic planning projects, planning compliance matters, and process improvements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present clear and precise reports, permits and correspondence are essential for this position.
A satisfactory police records check is required for this position.
You will hold a Degree or Diploma qualification with relevant experience in Statutory Planning or similar discipline.
