We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents. 

 

The Role
The surveyor will utilise Council survey equipment to compile site surveys; taking exact measurements in the provision of data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation and/or dimension of land and its features for project engineering design development, land evaluation, construction and other Council purposes.

 

*This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full-time basis.
 

Duties will include, but are not be limited to:

  • Compiling surveys as base plans for road engineering, architectural and landscape  Project design documentation.
  • Prepare all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
  • Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other measurements.
  • Analyse survey objectives and specifications in order to allocate and /or prepare surveys.
  • Compute measurements and interpret survey data in order to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of topographic features.
  • Manage the maintenance and calibration and/or procurement of Teams survey instrumentation.
  • Conduct research into surveying methods to ensure Council is using best practice knowledge and techniques.

You will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering Surveying or similar
  • Class C Drivers' License
  • WHS construction induction certification
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated exceptional level of customer service
  • Demonstrated high-level communication skills, both oral and written. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously 
  • High level of computer skills and related software systems

 

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $90,858 (Grade G, Step 1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
